Everglades National Park is extra special for being the first national park not protected for its scenery. In this swampy wonderland they found something else worth saving, and today it stands as a pristine example of the ecosystems that once covered most of Florida. The one place on earth where alligators and crocodiles coexist, a safe haven for manatees and nesting ground for tropical birds, this park is a playground for those in pursuit of wilderness.
