Unknown to most Americans, Biscayne National Park is truly a hidden gem of the national park service. Even with its close proximity to Miami, this park still receives only a fraction of the visitors of the neighboring Everglades. This is possibly because most of Biscayne is underwater, but being harder to reach makes the reward that much sweeter. Getting onto (or into) the water immerses you in a world that feels lightyears away from the nearby metropolis.
